Soooo, this is a little over a year old but I didn't start this blog until after our 1st year, so bear with me while I catch up on the highlights. Our First Thanksgiving was at my parents house in Scottsdale. We had the 'grand' blessing - Grandma and Grandpa Walton from Colorado joined us and we were very thankful.
Grandpa even did everyone the honor of cutting the turkey.
(I apologize for the blurr- blame Caitlin she took it ahaha)
It was also my Mom's Birthday ON Thanksgiving this year!! We knew we wanted to do something extra fun for her. Stephanie took it upon herself to call in a special guest... Elvis.
Yes Elvis. And yes, Mom screamed like a girl when she opened the door and Elvis was standing outside asking if Carol the birthday girl was home.
It was pretty hilarious. He sang about 5 Elvis songs and danced and we all laughed very hard. It was actually sad to see him go, we wanted to have him stay for dinner but he politely declined with "I must decline but thank you, thank you very much!"
For a fun trip we went to the Dr. Suess Art Gallery in old town Scottsdale where you could purchase these fine replica heads of interesting characters from Dr. Suess books. Tempting, honestly tempting, but we left empty handed.
And for another fun trip we took the day to ride the Verde Canyon Railroad.
It was beautiful scenery and a fun trip with everyone being together.
The Verde Canyon was pretty and starting to change color.

Coming soon - our most recent Thanksgiving 2011.
