Rolling in the Doe

This is about to get very serious people. I am about to share a childhood dream I've kept deep inside my heart. I'm going to be truly honest and I might be very embarrassed after this goes public, but I feel it is time to share the day I kind of, sort of, for at least a few moments, felt a dream of mine had come true....

First, allow me break the ice with a few hints:
Now that you have seen the pictures from my childhood which helped evoke this dream of mine I think you are ready for the pictures of the day (for a brief moment) my dream came true:

Oh yeah, rolling in all $100 bills was a rush. I felt like I won the dream lottery!
More than pleased, I shared my experience with two of my closest confidants - and they too said it was a feeling they would like to experience. So they gave this dream a try:
Ridiculous?
Well you'll never know how happy something Ridiculous can make you until you try.

El Paso Bucket List

We knew living in El Paso was more of a temporary thing, so we created a bucket list. We didn't get to cross everything off our list, but here are a few we'd like to share with you!

The Turquoise New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo.
The Zipper is the Best Ride ever made. And riding it with a big person like Eric makes it flip even more! I would have rode it at least 3 more times - but my partner was more of a 'one and done' guy.
I love rodeos!

We golfed in Las Cruces. It was a beautiful day - with amazing scenery and wildlife.

Roadrunners!

We went to a Diablos Baseball game. And they never scored a Run!
If you want a good laugh, ask Eric how he thought you pronouce Diablos.
RQ rented a Box and we got a special visit from this chicken mascot.

We hiked El Paso's Franklin Mountains a few times.
We weren't the only ones ...even Charlie did!
And we met the Oracle at the top: Lady Lora.
What a view of El Paso!

We decided to support the Miners for their big I-10 rivalry game.
El Paso vs Las Cruces:
The field reminded us of Wheaton's.
We visited some local attractions:
We stopped by the home of Jesse James in Lincoln, New Mexico.
Then things started getting weird...Like when our friend Tyler turned into a Chronicles of Narnia Character.
And we found ourselves walking around the haunted Fort Stanton.
And yes, we did eat at the Cattleman's Ranch and at Stateline.
We learned a lot about the city, history, and people of El Paso by working at our bucket list.
More to come about El Paso's Mission Trail on another post.

The Rebound Audi A4

A sad day occurred in my life shortly after beginning sweet matrimony: The day I sorrowfully kissed goodbye my beloved black 2007 Jetta. I deeply loved my car and begged and begged Eric to let me keep it.

I can get very attached to certain things - some of them don't make sense but the fact of the matter is, I am just attached. My Jetta was one of these things, and it was hard for me to see it go. It drove me around when I was happy, mad and sad - It was like losing a very reliable friend who had seen, experienced, and been many places with me. Laugh all you want, but this Jetta had done no wrong, and it would have made me happy for many many years to come.

Despite my attachment towards my black Jetta, Eric said I had to let it go, and so I did. My Jetta was replaced a few weeks later by this:
Year: 2002
Make: Audi
Model: A4
I drove it while we lived in El Paso and it did its job - getting me around every now and then.
Front Seats
Back Seats: (Little, little leg-room compared to my Jetta)
It was nice and all but I never got attached. It was a rebound car people.  Rebound, period.
Some of you might be able to relate: A rebound is simply a rebound and nothing more.
That is how I felt about my Audi A4.

I used it while I had it, but I was waiting for the 'REAL DEAL' to come into my life....

2010 Fall Festivities in Nashville

Hello Tennessee! How do you know you're in the South?? If you are standing in a cotton field!
We traveled to Tennessee for some Fall Festivities last 2010.
We had a great time exploring historical sites:

But Steph soon caught up to Eric, to help guide his historical exploration.
We ate delicious southern soul food while shopping in Franklin and saw hot air balloons we wanted to ride.
Lastly, it wouldn't be a trip if we didn't frolic at the Fall Farm...
And of course, spending time with family is always entertaining!
Noodle Neck?
Happy Fall 2010
