Say hello to our little southwest Hallway.
It may look familiar if you saw the post of our El Paso place.
The painting was a wedding gift by my high school friend, Marissa (Isn't it Great?!) The little cheap table works nicely here being curved. It guides people with flow towards the guest bathroom door. Kind of like a round-about; everyone knows when they get to a round-about to turn right (unless in Europe, but this is not Europe) which is exactly where we want guests to be directed. To the right is the guest bathroom and guest room. To the left is a long hallway that leads to the Master. You'll see our cute key tree, photo from our Rehearsal Dinner and a candle on the table.
We just got lucky with this light fixture in the hallway. Some of you may be thinking 'lucky?", but I happen to like this light fixture (a twin of it hangs in the dinning room - which I appreciate especially since you can see both at the same time). To me, it is the only physical part of the house that attempts to have any style - the rest of this little beach house is totally generic.
Now, lets take a moment to talk about the multitude of eye sores in this hallway... obviously the giant thermostat, the door/mini room that holds the hot water heater and our recently added Carbon Monoxide/ Fire alarm. Just let me vent for a moment people... WHY, why did they have to add another eye sore to this hallway?! WHY, why couldn't they move it down the hall to either the right or left?!? Why did they add it to bother me while I eat dinner. Its just another enemy I get to have a stare down with while I try to eat in peace!
And this picture is just to give you a view of how the dinning area somewhat flows into they hallway while the beautiful painting by my friend Marissa continues to draws your eye in. This painting would also look great above our buffet and could at times live there, but for now the wedding collage empire is not ready to be overthrown.
Not bad if you ignore the ugly utilities.
